Late February my classmates, my teachers and I went to the British Museum in Central London. I took various pictures of what I saw. I was intrigued about everything I saw and I wanted to base something on this. Obviously this was before I actually chose my desired topic. I'm happy though that I went here due to the fact it gave me an idea until I actually thought of something incompletely different to this. I would require this actions as a skill in terms of the images as I used my camera from my smartphone to take the photos. I took countless photos and then at the end of the day I would generate my ideas for my chosen subject. Even though I did not blink it to the Museum itself, it still did give me a general idea. I decided my project to be the evolution of HIP-HOP culture. How times has changed through it over the years.

This an official XXL magazine that I decided to annotate. I was pointing out some skills that I would like to acquire in my production. One thing I liked about the magazine is that the main image overwrites some of the text. It has a creative dimensional look to it. Simile, the text is either white or red which shows the consistency within the magazine.

HOME	THIS IS MY PETA KUCHA PRESENTATION WHERE I WILL BE EXPLAINING MY POINTS ON MY CHOSEN SUBJECT.
MY THOUGHTS	I AM GOING TO CREATE A HARD COPY MAGAZINE INSTEAD OF AN MULTIMEDIA AS I FEEL I WILL HAVE A BETTER CHANCE. USE EVERYTHING I HAVE LEARNT WITHIN IN DESIGN AND PHOTOSHOP AND PORTRAY IT ON MY PRODUCTION.
THE MAIN CONCEPT	MY SUBJECT LINKED WITH TIME WILL BE ON THE EVOLUTION OF HIP-HOP THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. I FEEL THERE IS A LOT TO TALK ABOUT ON THAT ASPECT.

WHY HIP HOP IS IMPORTANT?	CONTROVERSIAL GENRE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. PLAYS A LOT. EVOLVED IN THE 80'S

TARGET AUDIENCE	BASED FROM 18+ IT DID START IN THE LATE 80'S SO MOSTLY OLDER PEOPLE WILL KNOW ABOUT IT.
INSPIRATIONS	TUPAC, BIGGIE, NAS, SNOOP DOOG, BIG L, 50 CENT, DMX AND KENDRICK LAMAR. BROUGHT A LIGHT INTO THE HIP-HOP WORLD.

Here I was testing suitable creations for my production. I was generating ideas for my cover of my magazine. What kind of Font, style it would consist of. The hardest bit was trying construct a Main Logo.

These 3 pages were from my magazine designed. Although, I felt like the information on all these pages were too simplistic. It didn't give me an effect to be proud. As a result, the audience will lose instant interest. I'll start off with the contents page. There was barely any information. For e.g when was the magazine released and who wrote it. My main cover page did miss that source of information but i then added it later. The font itself in the contents page is very intricate.I do like how I played around with the colours and gradient but the

audience would not understand the purpose due to the fact there is not enough guidance for them. Moving on to page named The Base of Hip -Hop', I failed to use my own image and I did kind of rush to put anything to fill that aspect of the page.Secondly my text is too big which is unprofessional. My last page too was disgraceful as the quality of the image was pixelated and unclear. It was an picture of me Holding a microphone. The fact people did not understand it, shows that it was unclear. My aim now is to change everything and try to improve it to the best of my ability 

 because I am not satisfied yet with my recent results.

Below is my original creation. I will make a comment on each image on why I had to change some properties of it. My improved product is in my Final Production page.

There was few errors in this page. For e.g I did not add the price which is essential in any magazine. I accidentally included the full date also. I later then changed it to just the month and year.  

The word 'CONTENTS' on the top half of the page was too near so in my improved version I pushed it down. I removed the editorial information and replaced it with just the logo of 'SSM' and also the month and year included.

I changed numerous things on this page. I included a quote box which enhanced the display quality and a interesting look is shared out. The image on the right was previously rough. White curves around the edges were included which made that nice image to look amateur. I set the margins to be equal and also changed the page numbers colour to be white so it is visible for everyone to see when viewing my magazine. .

There was nothing really about this page. Although the word 'HISTORY' on this page was spelt wrong which I then changed later. The little text non the bottom right clashed at the end of the page so I made sure to change that and make it equal. I once again included the month and year; my logo.

I thought the colour of the text below wasn't compatible for the page so I changed it to a brighter colour which was orange. It gave out a more effective gesture. I moved it to the right too.
